Kim I just wanted to say that I laughed out loud when I read your comment “who ever told their kids “shape up or you can’t read”. This is because I work in a highschool and one of my students informed me that her mom has ‘grounded’ her from books and just wont give them back until her punishment is up… the funny thing is that as a result she has racked up an ever growing overdue book charge at the school’s library! I thought it was a rather cleaver punishment myself!

Ahh, independent bookstores. Will they return? I hope so. Bless those who survive.

I am the great-nephew of a great author, Lawrence Schoonover. He wrote very successful historic fiction, now out of print for decades. I’ve published two new editions of two of my favorites of his: The Schoonover Collection: Queen’s Cross; and The Schoonover Collection: Gentle Infidel. Next will be The Spider King, and six more after that. If you would consider reviewing one, I’d be happy to send it your way.

Kim – I’ve known you for some many wonderful years and I wonder what you would pick as the books that got you through those years at UCSD. another time…. YOU have an amazing gift as a writer and I am so glad I found you and anticipate with much joy reading some of these choices.
