Today’s front page of the Los Angeles Times announced the obituary of Glenn Goldman, the owner and founder of Book Soup, who died on January 3rd of pancreatic cancer. Mr. Goldman announced on January 2nd that he was going to sell Book Soup. A prepared statement from general manager Tyson Cornell assured the public that nobody at Book Soup is looking for a job, that the store is an extremely viable business and that the entire staff is committed to carrying on the legacy of Book Soup.
Claire and I love Book Soup, it is a store with a very cool vibe in Los Angeles. With six kids between us, sometimes we need to step into a bookstore as adult women rather than as ”Mom.”
Glenn Goldman gave Los Angeles a tremendous gift by devoting his professional life to Book Soup. We plan to honor his life and dedication by visiting the store, we hope you’ll do the same.
